St. Clair Residence realizes the COVID-19 pandemic may leave students with many questions about Residence. To ensure that students in Residence have a safe living environment during the fall 2020 semester, our services have made adaptations to operations based on recommendations from Public Health.

Safety measures in place at St. Clair Residence, Chatham

Residence Life staff will continue to run events to ensure that students feel supported, engaged and connected. Communities will stay connected virtually as we work within Public Health guidelines to bring unique and innovative initiatives to continue enhancing students’ Residence experience.

Until further notice, guests and visiting other resident townhouses are not permitted.

All units have been provided cleaning materials to sanitize common areas, kitchen and bathrooms after each use. Signage has been provided to remind of physical distancing, occupancy limits in certain areas and assigned bathroom sinks.

St. Clair Residence will be open to students for fall 2020 and winter 2021. We have been hard at work to make changes to continue providing a safe environment that is conducive to your academic success.

Yes. Townhouses will be at full occupancy, with strict safety measures in place in consultation with Public Health.

Typically, refunds are granted as per the Termination and Cancellation Policy within St. Clair Residence’s Student Resident Agreement. In recognition that these are unprecedented times, we are working with students who are cancelling their Residence application to establish appropriate outcomes.

Unfortunately, it is too early to make guarantees on winter 2021 Residence accommodations. The COVID-19 pandemic is constantly evolving and St. Clair Residence continues to make decisions within Public Health guidelines.

St. Clair Residence is developing a staggered move-in procedure to ensure that physical distancing can be maintained during the move-in process.

Move-in day for most programs is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 20 (Health Sciences students move-in date is Sunday, September 6). Please be aware that the date(s) is subject to change based on recommendations from Public Health and the College.

Please contact info@stclairresidence.ca if you require an early move-in date. Additional residence fees may be applicable.

Early move-in has been cancelled to avoid large gatherings. However, in some circumstances, students will still be able to request to move-in early by emailing info@stclairresidence.ca.

While Residence orientation may be a little different than what it has traditionally been, the Residence Life team is working hard to plan virtual events and activities that comply with social distancing guidelines to help students develop a sense of community as they live in Residence this year.
